Things You Can Do When Your Sponsor And/Or Other Leaders Are Not Helping
This is one of the biggest complaints I hear from new network marketing business owners… “My sponsor doesn’t answer my questions and will not help me.”
There can be a variety of reasons for this:
- your sponsor is new and has no clue their self
- he/she only does network marketing part time while working a full time job
- your sponsor has become dejected with the company
Whatever the case, you want to build a huge business and expecting your sponsor or other upline members to “be there” for you is not how you will do it. You need to first, rely on your abilities and do what you need to do to be a network marketing superstar.
In this post, I am going to share some tips, techniques and strategies to overcome this common problem.
Where Is My Upline #1: Climb The Ladder
In the military, they call it following the chain of command. If your immediate leader does not handle the issue, you go to the next person in that chain. Same thing in your network marketing business; if your sponsor doesn’t answer, go to his/her sponsor and keep going until you find the person who will help.
It really shouldn’t take too long, because each of these upline members get compensated when you sell and recruit. It only makes good sense to help downline members.

Where Is My Upline #2: Listen, Heed And Follow
Okay, I led into this article with a common “bitch” of new network marketing business owners, but let’s consider a common issue many experienced network marketing leaders voice: “I train and give them the tools and ways to succeed, but they don’t listen or follow and try to do it their way.”
I’m not saying this is you, but when you do find that upline leader who is willing to help you, you need to be humble and follow his/her direction. You may have a “voice in your head” telling you “this won’t work.” You need to not listen to that voice!
That leader has no reason to mislead you. The training and help he/she is giving you has worked for them and will work for you if you use it properly. And you need to duplicate that training with your downline.
Where Is My Upline #3: Look For Network Marketing Leaders Outside Your MLM Company
Just as you are reading our blog, there are many network marketing “gurus” who have built massive businesses… Just not with the same company you are with.
But the basics of network marketing success work on the same principles. So seek out other leaders…
- attend their speaking events
- read their books
- read their blogs
Learn their strategies and techniques.

When you are having a difficult time with your wording or the objections prospects can throw at you, these leaders are right there with videos helping you overcome in the MLM recruiting process.
One last tip… Do NOT voice your negative frustration with no help from upline to any of your downline. As a matter of fact, even when you are stating it to other leaders, do so in a positive way… “I know my sponsor is super busy, so can you help me?”
The #1 key to success in network marketing is a positive attitude. With that, you will win.
So be the leader even if few leaders are helping you and amazing things will come your way.
