I have examined many home based MLM business owners methods of marketing on social media.
I must say that a plethora of these MLM business owners are making quick enemies on
- Google+
- and others
Why?
Because they are running a marketing system that is considered spam-like. They put the same ad over and over. They make it seem like the opportunity is an hourly paid job. Or worse yet, they put Ferraris, Mansions and girls in bikinis and state that is the lifestyle they now live thanks to their MLM.
But they are often lying.
Lying is not good because what happens when that potential recruit finds out you drive a 2001 Honda Accord and you live in a modular home. The closest thing to a bikini clad woman is when your wife comes out of the bedroom in her nightgown.
That prospect decides that if you lie once, you will lie again.
There are right and wrong ways for MLM recruiting on social media. Here are 6 tips to do it right.
MLM Recruiting On Social Media Tip #1: Stay Active
Being a social site, you need to be social.
If you jump on at inconsistent times, potential recruits will assume you will be the same way when and if they need help.
It doesn’t mean tossing the opportunity every post.
Just be active…
- Give a Happy Birthday or Anniversary
- Comment on followers posts
- Share your knowledge on industry related topics
- Etc…
MLM Recruiting On Social Media Tip #2: Brand Yourself
DO NOT!
I exclaim again… DO NOT share your MLM company on social media.
Your MLM company is already branded and people can make an immediate judgment call when you say the company name.
The key is, brand yourself. When the prospect does find out the name, they will be following you and trusting you. Because you branded yourself and they will want what you have.
MLM Recruiting On Social Media Tip #3: Easy With Automation
No matter how good your automation system is, people will know it is automated.
There are some calls for automation… even with social media. But, don’t over do it. Prospects will be more willing to join you if they know you are a real person and not a computer program.
MLM Recruiting On Social Media Tip #4: Take It Off Social Media
As soon as you possibly can, it is best to take the prospect off the social media site.
Call them or have them call you.
Take them to your website.
Best yet, if you are somewhat close, a face to face meeting is the top way to recruit after prospecting on social media.
MLM Recruiting On Social Media Tip #5: Use A Picture Of You… With A Smile
It just amazes me how some MLM reps think that using a hype picture as a profile pic will help. They may put a Big Dollar sign or a Ferrari.
When I see this, I get a measure of disgust.
Prospects want to know you, not a fake Ferrari.
Put a picture of you… A photo of you with that wonderful smile.
That is what prospects want to see.
So… Say Cheese!
MLM Recruiting On Social Media Tip #6: Keep Everything Positive
It may be tempting to post on a subject that carries negative aspects. Maybe you are attempting to post in a positive way but the subject is “ripe” for negative comments, it may be wise just to not post on it.
- Politics
- religion
- war
- etc…
The best advice I can give you is before you post, consider the ramifications.
If you keep all of your social media posts, comments and such positive, you will find the negative forces having a difficult time even getting in.
Conclusion
I know if you heed the tips I gave you here today, you will have a better chance of recruiting on social media.
