Some would have you believe that network marketing is a bed of roses… Well, they may be right, but in most cases, the thorns have not been removed.
I am not here to tell you it is easy or money will just fall in your lap. Like any business, network marketing requires dedication and yes, hard work.
But if handled correctly, a network marketing business can be quite profitable, exciting and fun.
But also like any business, stress can arise. So in today’s post, I am going to give you 8 tips on stress management for network marketers.
#1 Stress Management Tip: Exercise Daily
You’ve probably heard it before but I am going to tell you again, exercise is a great stress reliever.
Science has proved that entrepreneurs who exercise on a regular basis experience less stress than their non-exercising counterparts.
So set up a daily exercise regimen and have less stress.
#2 Stress Management Tip: Stay Clear Of Negative Media
It is quite difficult to stay clear of all the media surrounding us…
- Newspapers
- Television
- and even Google
And when we look at any news, how much of it has a positive aspect?
Let me answer that… Very little!
You may think its okay to watch and read that news, even the negative stuff. But the consequences are stress and anxiety.
I suggest you cut down or even completely stop with the news. You will be amazed as to how your stress levels drop when you do.
#3 Stress Management Tip: Massage
There is nothing like a delightful massage to wipe the stress away. And if you do not want to dish out money to a masseuse, technology and your mate or a friend can give you a good alternative.
#4 Stress Management Tip: Focus On What Is Going Right
Maybe you had a goal to recruit 10 people this month but you “missed the mark.” Let’s say you recruited 7.
So you are talking to a friend and you could say, “I had a difficult month; I only recruited 7 people,” or you could say, “It was a great month! I recruited 7 people. I shot for 10, but I know these all will be strong business builders.”
Do you see the difference?
Focus on the good and the bad will get better.
#5 Stress Management Tip: Take A Break When There Is A Stress Onset
You surely know yourself and you know when stress is starting to take hold. Don’t let it…
Take a break. Go for a leisurely walk, get an ice cream cone, feed the pigeons.
Just a short break can take the stress away and make you realize all the blessings you have.
#6 Stress Management Tip: Have A Budget And Follow It
One of the primary factors of stress is money. Mismanaging money to be blunt.
The wise network marketer has a strict budget. Because it causes loads of stress if you or your family spend more than you have coming in.
I would like to recommend a tool that I, along with my tribe developed to help keep a budget. It’s call The Expense Tracker and you can learn more about it here.
#7 Stress Management Tip: Clean Up Your Desk/Work Area
Untidiness can cause stress. Even when everything is flowing smoothly, if you have a haphazard desk and work area, you will probably feel twangs of stress.
My suggestion is that at the end of every work day, just tidy up your work area. When you start out the next day, it feels refreshing and stress free.
#8 Stress Management Tip: Dress Sharp
Maybe it is a day you are going to do prospecting and recruiting on social media and write an educational blog post.
Good for you!
And many think that on these days, the pajamas or underwear will be fine.
I challenge you to break that mindset. Even on days when you are doing everything at home, you will find yourself feeling GREAT if you just go ahead and dress up as if you were going out.
So before you start that blog post, go look at yourself in the mirror and give yourself a hug.
Conclusion
I hope this gave you some thoughts and ideas about keeping stress down and business up.
