Many network marketers have embraced an online method of prospecting.
There is nothing wrong with that unless…
You completely neglect the belly to belly system that network marketing started with… Offline prospecting.
It only makes good sense to use both prospecting methods.
We have talked a lot about online prospecting but in today’s post, I am going to share various offline prospecting strategies and tips.
Use these tips to rocket your business to amazing heights…
Offline Prospecting Strategies #1: Get Out And Mingle
The first key is just getting out into society.
Just mingle with people; build relationships; collect business cards.
With their business card, you can then slowly feed them information that will entice the prospects to join you.
Talk with people and exchange business cards and you will build the list. And there is money in a list.
Offline Prospecting Strategies #2: Be Busy
During offline prospecting ventures, always give the impression you are busy. By doing so, you receive 2 benefits…
- Most people respect and are attracted to people who are busy (in a hurry).
- It provides you an excuse to not go deep into the opportunity
The whole idea of prospecting is to just get contact info and then follow up soon after. It is much better to ensure the prospect has time for a presentation and that they are comfortable. By being busy, when the prospect starts asking serious questions, you can easily explain that time won’t allow you to answer them now, but…. And then set up a presentation meeting soon after.
Offline Prospecting Strategies #3: Wear It
Most MLM companies have hats, shirts, bags and more that carry the company logo.
This is a great offline prospecting strategy. Just wear or use the item and when people ask about the logo, you are in the door.
Just simply develop an elevator speech, tell them how you will explain it and get their contact information.
Offline Prospecting Strategies #4: Drop Cards
It is Cedrick Harris’ favorite offline prospecting method. And we all know that Cedrick is a recruiting magician.
Cedrick uses drop cards that look like $100 bills, but you could use nearly any design. You see, people are curious and will pick up a card and read it. If it perks their interest, they will call the number or respond to a website.
I suggest using a “sizzle” toll free number.
It is a prerecorded message that entices the prospect to set an appointment.
There are many places you can drop your drop cards…
- Public restrooms
- Gas pumps
- With your tip in the diner
- In taxicabs, airplanes, buses, etc…
- Nearly anywhere…
Offline Prospecting Strategies #5: Attend Networking Events
Now, these are not a place to just “blurt” the business opportunity out. Keep in mind, there are going to be enough people doing that and the people in attendance are taking in so much information, they will probably not remember you from Sally or Joe.
Just trade business cards… Get contact info. And follow up the next day.
With a lighthearted and no pressure follow up, you can often build great business relationships that grow profitable.
Offline Prospecting Strategies #6: The Car
There are many network marketers who do quite well attaining both customers and recruits just by simply putting some enticing text with a “sizzle” number on the back window of their vehicle.
It is a method to consider if your spouse will allow it.
